Unofficial congressional returns give Avila Chevalier and Ocasio-Cortez substantial leads, while the Liberty prepare for another coaching change in Brooklyn.

Astronaut and Navy veteran Suni Williams will lead the 107th annual commemoration as Grand Marshal.

The Veterans Day procession is scheduled to step off at 12:30 p.m. on November 11, traveling north from 26th Street to 45th Street along Fifth Avenue. That gives spectators a defined Midtown route for planning where to watch.

NASA astronaut Sunita “Suni” Williams is this year’s Grand Marshal. Fellow Navy veteran Vicki Bello, who manages community and veterans programs for the Theatre Development Fund, serves as Honorary Marshal.

Before the march, a wreath-laying ceremony begins at 10:55 a.m. in Madison Square Park. The gathering is at Fifth Avenue between East 23rd and East 24th streets.

A 26–18 season and a semifinal appearance precede another change on the sideline.

Chris DeMarco will not return to lead the New York Liberty after his first season in charge. The departure leaves the team looking for its third head coach in three years.

New York finished the regular season with 26 wins and 18 losses. A first-round sweep of top-seeded Minnesota gave way to a three-game semifinal exit against Atlanta.

The next hire follows another recent transition: Sandy Brondello did not return after the 2025 season. For the franchise that plays at Barclays Center, the coaching search again becomes a central offseason decision.

More than 90% of the apartments at The Orchard, 42-06 Orchard Street in Long Island City, were leased by the end of October, BLDG says.

The building contains 576 market-rate apartments and 248 affordable homes.

Three retail tenants have signed for a combined 7,468 square feet. Intuit is scheduled for December 2026, Tokimo is due no later than spring 2027, and Mollytea is expected in the second quarter of 2027.
