The Wick Against Violence will broaden outreach and support for residents at risk of gun violence.
New York City announced October 20 that it will expand The Wick Against Violence in Bushwick through its Crisis Management System. Southside United operates the program.
The investment builds on work at Woodhull Hospital and Bushwick Houses. The city says outreach teams mediate disputes, help prevent retaliation and connect participants with services including job training, education and mental health care.
