NYFE Summary

The aircraft carrier Intrepid served in the Second World War, the Cold War and the Vietnam War. It also recovered NASA astronauts. The museum preserves the ship and uses its former working spaces to explain life at sea and the history of aviation.

Visitors can explore the flight deck’s aircraft and the ship’s bridge and navigation spaces. The Space Shuttle Pavilion houses Enterprise, NASA’s prototype orbiter. The submarine Growler provides another view of naval service, while Concorde is visited through a separately booked tour.
