NYFE Summary

J. & W. Seligman operated its merchant-banking headquarters here. Lehman Brothers later used the building as its headquarters for more than fifty years, linking the same corner with two successive banking firms.

The entrance curves around the meeting of William and South William Streets. Deeply cut stonework surrounds the lower floors, and a small circular temple marks the roofline. The corner treatment softens an otherwise tightly packed block.
