NYFE Summary

The farmhouse began with three rooms and grew as the property changed from a colonial household farm into a market farm supplying the city. The museum preserves that agricultural history across fields, an orchard, outbuildings and an herb garden. It is still a working farm, with an apiary and livestock.

Guided farmhouse tours explain domestic life alongside the farm’s development. Outdoors, visitors can see animals and follow maps available from the welcome center. Livestock areas remain working spaces: visitors must stay outside the paddocks and follow the farm’s feeding rules. Some special-event days have separate admission arrangements.
