NYFE Summary

Workers made watchcases here for the American Waltham Watch Company. This building replaced an earlier building on the same site that burned in 1877.

Rows of slender columns frame the upper windows. The steep roof rises into three decorated sections, with a round opening at the center. The factory’s elaborate street front contrasts with the plain brick wall along Shinbone Alley.
