NYFE Summary

The retailer moved here from Herald Square as department stores pushed north along Fifth Avenue. The design balanced large modern sales floors with a restrained street front intended to fit its older neighbors.

Rows of display windows fill a stone base beneath a long, regular facade. Upper office floors step back above the main cornice. Across the avenue, the Channel Gardens provide a direct view toward the store.
