Concourse-Concourse Village
The Grand Concourse area connects civic and apartment architecture with a contemporary-art museum and Joyce Kilmer Park. It is a useful choice for a visit centered on buildings, public art and an indoor exhibition.

Understanding Concourse-Concourse Village
The broad Concourse corridor sits among the older apartment neighborhoods described in the Jerome Avenue study. Its scale becomes easier to understand beside the open spaces near the courthouse.
Joyce Kilmer Park’s Lorelei fountain was made for Düsseldorf but was rejected amid opposition to Heinrich Heine’s Jewish origins and politics. A German-American campaign brought it to the Bronx in 1899.

The museum lists the B/D at 167 Street and the 4 at 161 Street–Yankee Stadium as subway options. Check current service and the station approach separately.
Visitor update
The museum's South Wing is under renovation. Its visitor guide directs visitors to the north entrance on Grand Concourse toward East 166th Street. Confirm the current entrance on the museum's visitor page before traveling.
