Hunts Point
Hunts Point is a South Bronx peninsula with working industry and reclaimed riverfront parks. Choose Hunts Point Riverside Park for the Bronx River or Barretto Point for the East River setting.

Understanding Hunts Point
The city’s assessment distinguishes the peninsula’s food-wholesale, manufacturing and warehouse uses from its residential core. Rail and highway infrastructure shaped both its growth and its environmental burdens.
Community-led rebuilding and environmental work form part of the neighborhood’s story. Hunts Point Riverside Park reclaimed an illegal dumping ground for public waterfront use.
Places to explore
Hunts Point Riverside Park
Lafayette Avenue at Edgewater RoadThe fishing pier, river edge and canoe-themed play area give this stop a clear Bronx River focus. A launch facility does not mean rental boats or an unscheduled paddling program are available.
Barretto Point Park
Viele Avenue between Tiffany and Barretto streetsChoose the East River waterfront, piers or a playground stop. Parks lists courts, picnic space and a seasonal floating pool; verify the pool’s current season separately.
Hunts Point Avenue
Residential and commercial part of the peninsulaThe neighborhood assessment includes this corridor in its study. Use public streets for a look at everyday neighborhood activity; the wholesale market and industrial properties are not assumed to admit tourists.
