NYFE Summary

This was the last branch completed under NYPL’s Carnegie library program. The long project expanded free neighborhood reading spaces across Manhattan, the Bronx and Staten Island.

Repeated brick arches link the tall ground-floor windows. Smaller arches above, decorative terra cotta and a projecting cornice give the broad front its detail. The library continues to provide books, computers and community programs.
