Bronx Community College secures $6 million for healthcare training rooms
The planned renovation covers more than 20,000 square feet in Carl Polowczyk Hall.
City capital funding of $3 million will be matched by New York State for nursing and allied-health facilities at the college's University Heights campus. BCC announced the investment on November 4, 2026.
Plans cover the third and fourth floors and would add more than 8,500 square feet of usable program space. They include teaching labs, clinical simulation spaces, patient observation rooms and places for students to gather.
Officials viewed architectural renderings during the funding presentation. The announcement gives no construction timetable or estimate of additional enrollment capacity. The campus pedestrian entrance is at 2155 University Avenue.
