NYFE Summary

The low former bank building was the headquarters of J. P. Morgan & Co. Its broad stone walls and large windows set it apart from the surrounding office towers. The entrance cuts diagonally across the corner of Wall and Broad Streets.

In 1920, a horse-drawn wagon exploded across the street, killing dozens of people and injuring hundreds. The investigation followed many leads but never identified the bombers. The building stands beside the intersection where that attack took place.
