NYFE Summary
The building began as an apartment hotel with suites for longer stays. In 1912, many suites were divided into rooms for travelers. By the 1920s, it was among the hotels that accepted women traveling alone without the restrictions common elsewhere.
Large carved male figures support the entrance surround. Above them, a metal-clad window bay projects from the brick and limestone front. Balconies and carved window surrounds fill the lower facade.
