NYFE Summary

Martin Beck had led the Orpheum vaudeville circuit and helped build the Palace Theatre. After losing control of that venture, he commissioned a new theater and ran it for the rest of his life. The building first carried his name.

A long arcade rises across the street front. Its columns have carved capitals beneath broad arches, with entrances recessed behind them. Beck brought the Orpheum circuit’s architect from San Francisco to create this Broadway building.
