NYFE Summary

AT&T directed its national telephone business from this headquarters for much of the twentieth century. The building grew in stages as the company expanded, while a consistent exterior tied the sections together.

Rows of columns are stacked through the upper floors as well as across the base. Seen along Broadway and the side streets, they turn an office facade into a repeated sequence of deep shadows and stone supports.
