NYFE Summary

A publisher of religious tracts used this building both as a headquarters and as a real-estate investment. The rental offices were meant to support its work. The venture later ran into financial trouble, and the newspaper The Sun became a tenant.

The upper stories open into a large arcade beneath a small roof tower. Carved figures and varied wall textures reward a closer look from the surrounding streets. Its form shows an early attempt to give a very tall office building a recognizable top.
