NYFE Summary
Arthur Hammerstein named his home after the successful Broadway musical Wildflower. He and actress Dorothy Dalton lived in an area that attracted many entertainment figures. Financial pressure during the Depression forced him to sell the property in 1930.
Patterned brick, half-timbering and steep red-tiled gables give the house an irregular outline. Stone bays and tall chimneys add to the composition. Later residential development has changed the surrounding grounds, and the house remains a private property.
