NYFE Summary
Lorde lived here with her children and partner, Frances Clayton. During her years in this home she published Coal, The Black Unicorn, The Cancer Journals and Zami. She also helped found Kitchen Table: Women of Color Press, which published work by women of color.
An open wooden porch extends across the front. A sunburst fills the small triangular pediment above the entrance, while an angled bay projects beside it. Lorde set up her study on the second floor.
