NYFE Summary

New Deal relief work turned a narrow strip of filled waterfront into a public swimming complex. The bathhouse bends around two sides of the site, screening the railway while leaving the pool open toward the harbor.

A round entrance rotunda meets long, low brick wings. Recessed brick bands, curved walls and thin metal railings continue the horizontal lines. The tall chimney also forms part of the architectural design.
