NYFE Summary

The bank turned its tower's stepped pyramid into a company trademark. The shape borrowed from drawings of the ancient Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, while the tall shaft drew on the bell tower of San Marco in Venice.

The pyramid originally held records and building machinery, including a chimney that vented at the top. At street level, tall columns and a recessed entrance provide details that can be examined without entering the building.
