NYFE Summary

This terminal served ferries to South Brooklyn before that service ended in 1938. Its three slips and broad waiting spaces were built for large numbers of commuters. Later restoration brought hotel, club and event uses above the waterfront terminal.

The South Street front has paired columns, tall windows and railings with marine details. On the water side, huge steel arches frame the ferry slips. This is a separate historic building from the modern Staten Island ferry terminal next door.
