NYFE Summary

The mission moved here after its earlier premises were lost during construction of the Manhattan Bridge approach. Alterations gave a coffin maker's former building a chapel and a new front suited to its charitable work.

The second story has timber-like framing and tall windows above the brick shopfront level. The change in materials makes the mission's later use visible from the street.
