NYFE Summary

Playwright and manager George Broadhurst developed this theater with the Shubert brothers. Its first production was George Bernard Shaw’s Misalliance. It forms a pair with the neighboring playhouse now called the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre.

Patterned brick and pale terra-cotta trim give the exterior its detail. Inside, columns, decorative bands and ceiling ornament frame the auditorium. The building has housed both plays and musicals, including the original Broadway production of Cabaret.
