NYFE Summary

Producer Arthur Hopkins managed the original Plymouth Theatre from its opening until his death in 1950. He presented Ibsen plays here and made the theater a base for his productions.

The Shuberts paired the building with the neighboring Broadhurst. Patterned brick, pale trim and a curved corner entrance connect it with the other Shubert Alley theaters. It was renamed for Shubert chairman Gerald Schoenfeld in 2005.
