NYFE Summary

The lower church was intended to support a Gothic building. The upper church took a different form, with a broad stone front inspired by churches in Rome. Two planned towers were never built; their low bases remain above the outer corners.

The interior brings together colored marble, mosaics and inlaid stone. On the street front, stacked rows of flattened columns frame three doors and the large central arched window.
