NYFE Summary

The parish built this church after an anti-Catholic attack on its earlier building. Successive alterations enlarged the church and changed its front. It served Irish immigrants before becoming an important parish for Spanish-speaking residents.

Twin brick towers end in octagonal spires. Round-arched windows and older fieldstone walls reveal different phases of construction. The front and expansion were separate projects by Patrick Charles Keely and Lawrence J. O'Connor.
