NYFE Summary

German-speaking residents established the parish when Manhattanville was still a village. Their church used rounded brick arches and a square bell tower drawn from contemporary German church design.

A later addition extended the building at the back, keeping the round arches while adding taller gables and a more varied roofline. The long side wall still shows the simpler design of the original church.
