NYFE Summary

Four large columns support the office tower at the middle of its sides, leaving the corners open. This arrangement makes room for the lower church and plaza. The sloping roof was considered for solar panels, but that proposal was not carried out.

The church’s granite surface contrasts with the aluminum-and-glass tower. Its interior uses movable furnishings so the space can serve worship, music and other programs. Together the buildings show how offices, a congregation and public space were fitted into one city block.
