NYFE Summary

Newspaper founder Joseph Medill Patterson commissioned a building that could hold editorial offices, printing operations and rental space. The tower gave the paper a visible identity while rental offices helped cover the cost of its Midtown site.

White brick alternates with dark window bands, and setbacks narrow the upper floors. Above the entrance, a carved crowd of New Yorkers appears against a city skyline. Inside, a large globe sits beneath a black glass dome.
