NYFE Summary

The chapel began as a mission for workers at the nearby Johnson Iron Foundry. It is now the headquarters of a local historical society whose archive includes photographs, maps, books and other records of the northwest Bronx.

Rough stone supports walls covered with wooden shingles. Dark timber patterns cross the gables, and small windows have rounded, three-lobed tops. The building’s uneven roofline follows its sloping site.
