NYFE Summary
The militia training building occupied land once intended for an eastern basin of the Jerome Park Reservoir. Its enormous drill hall used a metal-and-glass roof with a span comparable to a railway train shed.
Tall round towers flank the arched main entrance. Narrow windows, projecting turrets and notched parapets give the brick walls a fortress shape. The drill hall’s broad curved roof rises behind them.
