NYFE Summary

Henry Rutgers donated land from his farm for a church as the surrounding streets were divided into building lots. The building later served sailors under the name Church of Sea and Land. The Chinese congregation began sharing it in 1951 and later received the property.

Pointed windows and doors interrupt the small fieldstone walls. Stone bands, corner blocks and window frames strengthen the masonry. Inside the pointed window heads, the narrow wooden divisions curve and cross to form a delicate pattern.
