NYFE Summary

Writers, artists and people interested in the arts made this their association's home. Two members of the club designed the replacement for an earlier house on the site. The organization later moved to a larger clubhouse on West 43rd Street.

The narrow brick front has three windows across each main floor and a steep slate roof with dormers. Stone surrounds pick out the doors and windows. Its scale preserves a trace of the smaller clubhouses that once stood near the city's theaters and galleries.
