NYFE Summary

The bank was founded to protect the savings of new immigrants, especially people arriving from Ireland. It grew on the same site through several successive buildings. The tall replacement combined banking space with offices above.

A deep recess divides the upper front into two wings, bringing daylight farther into the building. Carved eagles, beehives and bees appear near the top. The shape and ornament can be studied from the street without entering the former banking hall.
