NYFE Summary

The Sons of Israel Kalwarie congregation built its own synagogue after worshipping in other spaces. It remained here until the 1980s. The building was later adapted for other uses.

Staircases rise from both sides to a recessed porch. Projecting towers contain the interior stairs, and rows of round arches run across the pale limestone front. The design combines these arches with columns and classical moldings.
