NYFE Summary

The original clubhouse combined social rooms with apartments for unmarried members. After Yale moved to a larger building, the property served other clubs, wartime maritime activities and the Army Reserve. The University of Pennsylvania later acquired it for the Penn Club.

A deeply grooved limestone base supports red brick and abundant terra-cotta ornament. Balconies and sculpted faces mark the transition to the upper floors. A large arch and shield rise above the projecting copper cornice.
