NYFE Summary

A group of artists organized the cooperative to provide both living and working rooms. Its position opposite Central Park gave north-facing studios a supply of daylight without a neighboring building immediately in front.

Double-height windows reveal the large studio spaces. A bust of painter Thomas Gainsborough stands above the entrance. A long sculpted procession of the arts, colored tiles and patterned panels identify the building’s artistic purpose.
