NYFE Summary

Developer William R. H. Martin built the stable before selling it to George S. Bowdoin in 1907. Bowdoin’s daughter converted it to a garage in 1918. It later became a private house as the neighborhood’s stables disappeared.

Pale stone blocks frame the doors and windows against red brick. Horse heads appear in round panels, while a bulldog’s head looks out from the stepped gable. These details explain the building’s original purpose without entering it.
