NYFE Summary

The railroad covered its tracks and developed offices and other buildings above them. This headquarters extended Park Avenue through large openings at street level, allowing traffic to pass beneath the tower.

A large clock and sculpted figures mark the lower part of the facade. Higher up, the narrow tower ends in an elaborate roof with a small central lantern. The building was designed to align with the avenue and the station beyond it.
