NYFE Summary
This commercial front was assembled from repeated iron columns and window arches. Such prefabricated parts let builders create ornate facades with broad windows, before steel-framed skyscrapers changed the city’s scale.
The upper windows have paired arches beneath a larger arch. Round and three-lobed openings fill the spaces above them, echoing Venetian palaces. Fluted columns and projecting bands separate the floors of the narrow front.
