NYFE Summary

The hotel accommodated long-term residents as well as travelers and social gatherings. Isadora Duncan and Doris Duke lived here, and Fiorello LaGuardia’s inaugural ball was held in the building. Its rooms and meeting spaces served the commercial and entertainment district growing around it.

Pink brick contrasts with large limestone window frames and projecting brackets. Oversized shields and carved faces mark the upper stories. A copper-covered roof and tall dormer windows complete the front above rows of small balconies.
