NYFE Summary

This building offered single professional men an alternative to a house or boarding room. Each suite had a parlor, bedroom and bathroom, but no kitchen. Residents shared a dining room on an upper floor and received hotel-style housekeeping.

Kitchens were added later, ending the building's original role as bachelor housing. Outside, rough stone, red brick and carved details lead up to a steep roof. The contrast between the heavy base and the roofline remains visible from the corner.
