NYFE Summary

This congregation traces its roots to the Dutch Reformed church organized in New Amsterdam in 1628. Its later Fifth Avenue home takes its name from the marble used on the exterior. The numbered wooden pews preserve doors that once helped keep out drafts.

Two windows by the Tiffany studios show Moses and Joshua. Other artists added biblical scenes over the following century. Norman Vincent Peale served as senior minister for fifty-two years and wrote The Power of Positive Thinking during his ministry here.
