NYFE Summary

The bank replaced the image of a stone fortress with glass walls. Passersby could see banking rooms and a large vault from the street. That visibility was part of the company's approach to attracting customers.

Broad glass panels and narrow metal divisions give the corner a much lighter appearance than older banks nearby. The exterior is the focus here; the original banking arrangements should not be assumed to survive unchanged inside.
