NYFE Summary

An open arcade joins a small pavilion at each end. Its curve shapes the oval space in front, with paths spreading outward through the park. Paired columns, arched windows and roof balustrades carry the design from one end to the other.

The park was first called Winthrop Park. It received its present name in 1941 to honor Monsignor Edward McGolrick. Nearby monuments remember local service in the First World War and the ironclad USS Monitor.
