NYFE Summary

J. P. Morgan and other members founded the club after disputes at the Union Club. The founders helped shape the design, debating the entrance and courtyard while seeking rooms that looked across Central Park.

A deep cornice projects over the marble walls. On East 60th Street, paired columns and wrought-iron gates screen an entrance court. The courtyard gives the building a different face from the broad wall along Fifth Avenue.
