NYFE Summary

Aileen Osborn Webb founded the museum in 1956 to recognize contemporary craftsmanship. Its early exhibitions focused on materials and techniques. The institution later broadened its collections and programs to examine connections among craft, art and design.

Changing galleries explore how objects are made, from studio jewelry to work using digital processes. The collection includes art and design made since 1950. During scheduled open-studio hours, resident artists welcome visitors to see works in progress and ask about their methods.
