NYFE Summary

Members of the environmental organization Time’s Up! founded this museum in 2012 inside C-Squat. It records how Lower East Side residents turned abandoned spaces and vacant lots into community places and gardens.

Photographs, videos, documents and artifacts tell that history through local activism. The volunteer-run museum connects these records with the neighborhood around it and offers programs about community action.
