NYFE Summary

Producer Sam Harris promised Irving Berlin a theater if he would write a musical revue. Berlin supplied The Music Box Revue, then wrote new editions each year. Later productions included Of Thee I Sing, the first musical to win the Pulitzer Prize.

A recessed gallery with tall columns spans the front above the entrance. Arched dormer windows rise from the sloping roof. The design gives this playhouse the appearance of a country house among the surrounding commercial buildings.
