The legal association outgrew a series of earlier homes in lower Manhattan. Its larger house brought a law library, meeting halls and offices together on the developing Club Row.
Two fluted columns frame the main entrance. Smaller columns appear around the upper windows, while pairs of decorated pilasters divide the front into three bays. Different classical forms are stacked within the same limestone facade.
